Comic Relief 2015
On Friday 13th March 2015 Comic Relief hosted a star studded night coming live from the London Palladium. £78,082,988 was donated, meaning since the organisation was formed in 1985 an astonishing £1,047,083,706 has been raised.
Staff and students at Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy pride themselves on their involvement in fundraising activities in order to support this fantastic charity.
This year, staff and students once again embraced the charity in order to raise as much money as possible for Comic Relief. Previous years have seen the creations of The Only Way is Shelfield and The Staff Eat off, still a huge success amongst students.
This year was no exception, with staff competing against each other in a World Records show. Although no World Records were broken, students were entertained by staff attempting 1 minute challenges including eating lemons, attaching pegs to face, apple bobbing, ferrero rocher eating and egg smashing.
The show was a huge success and helped bring our fundraising total to over £900 with money still coming in.
Days like this only happen successfully because of the support and good nature of students, parents and the staff. As an Academy we are proud that our students care and are willing to give something back to children less fortunate than themselves.
