Annual Christmas Meal 2014
On Tuesday 16th December the academy invited more than 70 OAP`s from the local area for a Christmas Community Themed day.
They all received a Christmas meal, pudding, mince pies and coffee prepared on site by our catering team, including Miss Ward assisting with the serving of their meals.
We received extremely positive comments including “could I hire them for Christmas Dinner” as our visitors were all served by some of our Duke of Edinburgh Students, with some using this towards the volunteer section of their award.
The day was enjoyed by all the visitors, staff and students involved. Some students enjoyed it so much that they asked if they could be considered to help with similar events in the future and this event next year.
The visitors received a present of a box of chocolates as they left the academy. One of the visitors stood up at the end and wanted to thank all the people involved for an extremely enjoyable day and the hope of been invited back again next year.
Ann Thickett, from Mob Lane phoned to say “a sincere thanks to all staff and pupils for all their hard work putting on this event. It was really appreciated”.
