Royal Television Society

On Thursday 7th May 100 year 9 students will have the opportunity to take part in a work related learning workshops to give students an insight into careers in the television industry. The 4 hour workshops will provide an excellent platform for young people to learn about the wide variety of jobs involved in TV; not only the roles that would expect like presenters, writers, producers and actors but also camera operatives, accountants, engineers, technicians, HR specialists...the list goes on!!

The RTS will be bringing with them a guest speaker, Isabel Clarke, who is Chair of the Royal Television Society in the Midlands and who has had an interesting career. She will talk to the students about her skills and jobs and she will be the judge for the presentations in the afternoon.

The winning team from the challenge will be invited to take part in the Grand Final of the RTS Education Programme 2015 which will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 18th June at BBC Birmingham, where they will present their idea along with the winning teams from the other 10 schools who have taken part this year.
